Happy New Year

Welcome to an exciting new year at Christ Church!

Setting Yourself Up to Thrive

YOG.jpg

We’re all back to normal this Sunday with Gatherings at 8, 10 and 5, and with our kids groups restarting.  We’re also starting the third part in our Year of Growth which is looking at Setting Yourself Up to Thrive.  To accompany the talks each week there will be resources on our website including a video introduction from Paul.  Check out the Year of Growth page on our website at www.ccweb.org.uk/yearofgrowth - more resources are being added all the time, so do keep coming back.

Read the Bible this year

One fantastic way to thrive in 2018 is to take 15 minutes each day to read through the Bible.  There are lots of ways to do this but we highly recommend the Bible In One Year from Nicky Gumbel at HTB.  You can access the daily reading and commentary online, sign up for a daily email or better still download the iPhone or Android app from where you can also listen to the readings read by David Suchet as well as Nicky’s commentary.  And best of all, it’s completely free!  It’s not too late to start so visit www.bibleinoneyear.orgfor more details.

Sophie and Elliot start this week

This Sunday we will be welcoming our new Youth Pastors, Sophie and Elliot Mocharrafie who start work on Monday.  Sophie and Elliot will be heading up our work with 11 to 18 year olds, taking on responsibility for Meeting Point and Pathfinders.  Find out more about Sophie and Elliot in a post from May last year or come and meet them on Sunday.

Coming up at Christ Church

This coming Friday, 12th January, we’re having a Ladies Clothes Swapevening at Christ Church starting at 7:30pm.  It’s a great opportunity to clear out the wardrobe and come home with something new.  Tickets are £5 – including cheese and wine.  More details here.

Our Marriage Course starts on Thursday 18th January.  This seven week course is perfect for anyone married or in a long term relationship.  Each evening includes a meal and input from the course leaders. You'll spend the rest of the time in private discussion together, with no group work.  The course costs £90 per couple but if you book by Sunday you get a £10 discount.  More details here.

Have you ever wanted to attend New Wine but without the mud?  Well on Saturday 20th January we are welcoming Paul Hardcourt, New Wine’s National Director to Christ Church for a Taster Day which include worship, teaching and ministry.  Tickets are £15 and can be purchased through the New Wine Website.

Finally ... Are you free tomorrow morning?

If so, could you spare an hour or so (from 9am) to help with the Christmas Packdown?  Just come along and get stuck in!  Thanks.
