Welcome to the latest update from Christ Church.

This Sunday is Mothering Sunday

Here’s a lovely idea from our Trailblazers which we can all do this Sunday:  Why not write down a favourite memory, a short story, a characteristic or something about your mum or a ‘mother figure’ for which you are thankful or wish to remember. You can prepare this beforehand on a small piece of paper and bring it with you to church, or you can write it before, during, or after The 10 Gathering on Sunday - there will be paper available for that. On Sunday there will be opportunities to stick your note to the pillars around church where they will be left up for a week or two for folk to read what others have written.

Thank you for celebrating Mothers’ Day with us!

Change your clock!

Don't forget that the clocks go forward one hour this week!

Kingdom Living

Our Kingdom Living course continues this Wednesday at 7:45pm when we will be looking at Kingdom Prophecy.  Over 80 people were there last week for the session on Kingdom Theology but if you missed it, you can catch up on the Sermons and Media page on our website.

The Spire Coffee Shop

Have you visited our Coffee Shop yet?  Well if you are planning a visit soon, just be aware that The Spire is closed this week as the church is in use by local schools for the Easter Experience.  The Coffee Shop will re-open at 9am on Monday 3rd April

We are so grateful to Karie Howard who has been our coffee shop manager since opening and has done much of the work to get The Spire off the ground.  Karie is now moving on to new challenges and we will have an interim manager in place from 3rd April while we seek a new permanent manager.

Sundays United

Did you know that we have a family homegroup specifically aimed at families who have children who play sport on Sunday mornings? Meeting on Sundays at 4pm in the crypt fortnightly during term time, they learn about Jesus, support each other and have fun.  Do come along for their taster session at 4pm on Sunday 2nd April. They look forward to seeing you there.

Help needed with the Easter Experience

The Easter Experience will be running in Christ Church all of next week. Please be praying for the team, the school children and teachers who will be coming into the building and for this wonderful opportunity to learn about Easter.

There’s a huge amount of work to pack down from Easter Experience, so if you are free from 1.30pm on Friday 31st March and can come along to church to help you would be most welcome!

We’re looking for a Youth Pastor

We are currently recruiting a full time Youth Pastor, so if you know someone who would love to work for Christ Church in this capacity please point them to the details which are at www.ccweb.org.uk/workforus.  The closing date for applications is 12th April.

Finally

We have all seen the tragic pictures of famine in East Africa where 16 million people are in urgent need of food and safe water.  As a church we partner with TearFund who are part of the national DEC appeal initiative.  If you would like to know more or make a donation, visit the TearFund site.
